TOUR DE LOUNGE 2013

Story

I am currently training for the very gruelling and tough TOUR DE LOUNGE 2013 that is being held over the period of the Tour de France. I am on a mission to fundraise in aid of the Leukaemia Foundation.

You will probably ask what this event is all about? I am sure you have heard about the Tour de France but this event is something that many may have not heard about. I will be cycling in my lounge room during the 23 days of the event whilst watching the Tour de France.

As I am not as fit and toned as the many of the expert riders I have set my target as 500 kilometres.  This will probably entail a few late nights or early mornings but I really want to do this in aid of the worthy cause.

I am asking my friends, families and colleagues to get behind me so that I can fundraise as much as possible and really make a contribution to the Leukaemia Foundation. The families and friends of those people who have Leukaemia certainly have a much tougher road ahead than I, so please dig deep and sponsor me in support of the Leukaemia Foundation.smiley

Leukaemia Foundation of Australia

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with blood cancers (leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma) and related blood disorders.

The Leukaemia Foundation supports patients and their families by providing services at no cost to the patient. Our services include providing disease specific information, emotional support and advocacy, financial assistance, educational programs to help people live with their disease, safe transport to and from treatments and access to fully furnished 'home away from home' accommodation for regional families.

Millions of dollars are also invested annually to Australia’s leading researchers to develop better treatments and eventually a cure.

The Leukaemia Foundation receives no government funding and relies on money raised from the community to continue to support patients and their families affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or related blood disorder.
